JATIMTIMES - Dapur menjadi salah satu ruangan di rumah yang dapat menarik banyak hama, salah satunya tikus. 

Hal ini karena ada banyak makanan yang disimpan dan sampah di dapur. Ditambah, ada beberapa makanan yang dapat menarik hewan pengerat ini muncul.

Dilansir dari MSN (14/8), ada beberapa bahan makanan yang dapat mengundang tikus masuk ke dapur. Di antaranya:

1. Sereal dan Biji-bijian

Sereal dan biji-bijian

Meski terkenal sebagai makanan yang praktis, namun ternyata bisa menjadi pemicu datangnya tikus ke dapur. Oleh karenanya, setelah selesai menyajikan sereal harus langsung ditutup kembali dan disimpan dengan baik. Bisa juga menyimpannya dalam stoples agar lebih awet.

"Kotak sereal, nasi, pasta, dan biji-bijian lain yang tidak disegel kembali sangat menarik bagi tikus," kata John Stewart, spesialis pencegahan hama di Pelsis Group.

Begitu juga dengan biji-bijian, seperti kedelai, kacang hijau, dan lainnya. "Hal ini karena makanan ini mengandung banyak karbohidrat yang menyediakan sumber energi baik untuk tikus," lanjutnya.

2. Camilan Manis

Camilan manis

Camilan manis memang paling nikmat, tapi ternyata ini juga menjadi sumber hadirnya tikus di dapur. Karena, camilan manis mengandung gula tinggi yang cenderung disukai oleh tikus.

Joshua Houston, pakar pengendalian hama di Household Quotes mengatakan, "Tikus cenderung tertarik pada makanan tinggi protein, lemak, atau gula."

"Makanan itu mencakup cokelat, mentega, permen, kacang-kacangan," lanjutnya.

Houston juga menyarankan untuk menyimpan camilan manis itu di dalam kulkas. "Jika kamu menjatuhkan makanan manis, segera bersihkan. Karena serangan tikus banyak dialami saat orang lupa membersihkan makanan yang mereka tumpahkan," tambahnya.

3. Roti

Roti

Roti juga kerap disimpan untuk stok makanan di dapur. Biasanya dipanggang atau dijadikan sandwich sebagai menu sarapan. Namun, roti juga termasuk jenis makanan yang dapat mengundang tikus.

Stewart mengatakan, "Roti, kue, biskuit, dan makanan panggang lain dapat menjadi daya tarik tersendiri bagi tikus."

4. Buah dan Sayur

Buah dan sayur

Buah dan sayuran adalah makanan berair yang dapat menawarkan rasa manis. Jenis makanan ini mengandung vitamin dan hidrasi untuk tikus. Oleh karenanya, buah dan sayur harus disimpan dengan cara tepat.

"Hasil pertanian segar yang diletakkan di atas meja atau tidak disimpan dengan benar ini menjadi incaran tikus, karena menyediakan vitamin dan hidrasi," ungkap Stewart.

5. Daging

Daging

Daging merupakan jenis makanan yang mengandung protein. Makanan berprotein ini juga menjadi incaran tikus di dapur. Meski tak mungkin tikus memasuki kulkas, tempat di mana daging disimpan, tapi limbahnya bisa menjadi incaran.

Jika memiliki sisa daging, harus dalam kantong sampah tertutup. Sisa daging itu juga harus segera dibawa keluar. Baunya yang busuk juga dapat menarik tikus datang ke dapur.
