Menurutnya, ia ingin menciptakan karakternya sendiri karena tidak ingin jika nanti film tersebut sama persis dari aslinya.
"Gue nggak kepengin dibikin plek ketiplek juga. Jadi ya balik lagi yang gue bilang, Indonesia kita punya karakter masing-masing. Ya ini hasil adaptasi juga," tuturnya.
