JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota Malang memangkas sasaran program seragam sekolah gratis pada tahun ajaran 2026/2027. Program itu kini hanya menyasar siswa baru dari keluarga tidak mampu.
Wali Kota Malang , Wahyu Hidayat, menyebut perubahan kebijakan mengikuti penyesuaian efisiensi anggaran pemerintah pusat. Pemkot juga memprioritaskan bantuan agar lebih tepat sasaran.

Pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026, seluruh siswa baru SD dan SMP negeri menerima bantuan seragam tanpa melihat latar belakang ekonomi. Saat itu, sekitar 16.500 pelajar mendapat fasilitas tersebut.
Kini jumlah penerima diperkirakan turun drastis. Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Malang, memperkirakan penerima hanya sekitar 1.000 pelajar. “Bantuan seragam sekolah gratis hanya diberikan kepada pelajar baru yang berasal dari keluarga tidak mampu,” kata Wahyu.
Pemkot Malang tetap tidak membagikan seragam dalam bentuk jadi. Bantuan diberikan berupa kain bahan agar ukuran pakaian bisa disesuaikan kebutuhan siswa. “Karena kalau seragam jadi banyak yang tidak sesuai ukuran dan akhirnya tidak bisa digunakan langsung,” ujar Wahyu.
Program itu juga masih terbatas untuk siswa SD dan SMP negeri. Pemkot belum memperluas bantuan ke sekolah swasta karena keterbatasan anggaran. “Untuk tahun ini tidak ke sekolah swasta sebab ada efisiensi anggaran,” kata Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kota Malang, Suwarjana.

Masing-masing sekolah nantinya mendata siswa yang masuk kategori keluarga miskin. Data tersebut kemudian dikirim ke Pemkot Malang untuk proses pencairan dan distribusi bantuan.
Setiap siswa penerima akan memperoleh dua jenis seragam. Paket bantuan meliputi seragam nasional, pramuka, serta atribut sekolah seperti dasi. “Yang mengetahui kondisi muridnya itu masing-masing sekolah,” ujar Suwarjana.
