JATIMTIMES - Dinas Kesehatan (Dinkes) Kota Malang mulai mengintensifkan edukasi kepada masyarakat terkait hantavirus. Meski data resmi dari Kementerian Kesehatan belum menjelaskan secara rinci apakah kasus yang ditemukan berstatus suspek atau sudah terkonfirmasi, langkah antisipasi tetap dilakukan melalui 16 puskesmas di Kota Malang.

Kepala Dinkes Kota Malang, Husnul Muarif mengatakan, edukasi diberikan secara langsung maupun melalui media elektronik. Materinya meliputi pengenalan hantavirus, cara penularan hingga langkah pencegahan yang perlu dilakukan masyarakat.

“Hantavirus ini perantaranya tikus dan hewan pengerat. Penularannya bisa lewat air kencing, air liur, dan kotorannya,” ujar Husnul.

Ia menjelaskan, penularan paling banyak terjadi melalui udara atau airborne. Kotoran maupun urin tikus yang mengering dapat terbawa udara lalu terhirup manusia melalui saluran pernapasan.

Selain itu, penularan juga bisa terjadi akibat kontaminasi. Misalnya ketika seseorang menyentuh benda yang terpapar kotoran, air liur, atau urin tikus lalu memegang area wajah seperti mata, hidung, dan mulut tanpa mencuci tangan terlebih dahulu.

“Bisa juga lewat luka. Jadi ada luka terbuka yang kemudian terkena air liur, urin, ataupun kotoran tikus,” jelasnya.

Gejala awal hantavirus disebut mirip dengan infeksi virus pada umumnya. Penderita dapat mengalami demam tinggi, badan terasa pegal, nyeri tenggorokan hingga sakit kepala.

Namun demikian, Husnul mengingatkan bahwa hantavirus memiliki risiko fatalitas yang cukup tinggi karena menyerang organ ginjal sebagai target utama.

“Keluhannya nanti bisa mengarah ke gagal ginjal. Misalnya air kencing tidak bening, jumlah urine sedikit, atau keluhan lain di saluran kencing,” katanya.

Menurut Husnul, tingkat fatalitas hantavirus dalam sejumlah literatur bahkan disebut lebih tinggi dibanding Covid-19. Karena itu, masyarakat diminta kembali menerapkan kebiasaan protokol kesehatan, terutama penggunaan masker.

“Yang paling mendasar memakai masker karena pintu masuk paling banyak lewat saluran pernapasan,” pungkasnya.
