JATIMTIMES - Masyarakat kembali menikmati libur panjang pada pekan kedua Mei 2026. Pemerintah resmi menetapkan Kamis, 14 Mei 2026 sebagai hari libur nasional, yang kemudian dilanjutkan cuti bersama pada Jumat, 15 Mei 2026.

Penetapan tersebut tertuang dalam Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB) 3 Menteri tentang Hari Libur Nasional dan Cuti Bersama 2026. Dengan tambahan akhir pekan Sabtu dan Minggu, masyarakat berkesempatan menikmati long weekend selama empat hari berturut-turut.

Tanggal tersebut merupakan libur nasional untuk memperingati Kenaikan Yesus Kristus. Sementara sehari setelahnya, yakni Jumat 15 Mei 2026, ditetapkan sebagai cuti bersama Kenaikan Yesus Kristus.

Momentum ini diperkirakan bakal dimanfaatkan masyarakat untuk berlibur, pulang kampung singkat, maupun sekadar beristirahat dari aktivitas pekerjaan dan sekolah.

Selain long weekend pertengahan Mei, pemerintah juga menetapkan sejumlah tanggal merah lain sepanjang bulan Mei 2026. Total ada enam hari libur nasional dan cuti bersama selama bulan tersebut.

• Jumat, 1 Mei 2026: Hari Buruh Internasional
• Kamis, 14 Mei 2026: Kenaikan Yesus Kristus

• Rabu, 27 Mei 2026: Hari Raya Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah
• Kamis, 28 Mei 2026: Cuti Bersama Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah
• Minggu, 31 Mei 2026: Hari Raya Waisak 2570 BE

Dengan susunan kalender tersebut, masyarakat juga berpeluang menikmati long weekend lain di akhir Mei 2026 yang tersambung hingga awal Juni.
