JATIMTIMES - DPRD Kota Malang meminta kualitas air dari Sistem Penyediaan Air Minum (SPAM) Bango dipastikan tetap aman dan layak konsumsi. Kekhawatiran itu muncul menyusul masih ditemukannya tumpukan sampah dan keberadaan tempat penampungan sementara (TPS) di sekitar aliran sungai.

Wakil Ketua Komisi C DPRD Kota Malang, Dito Arief Nurakhmadi mengatakan pengawasan kualitas air perlu dilakukan secara serius karena Sungai Bango menjadi salah satu sumber utama SPAM Bango.

“Perumda Tugu Tirta bersama Perum Jasa Tirta (PJT) I dan Pemkot Malang harus memastikan kualitas air yang didistribusikan ke masyarakat benar-benar layak konsumsi,” jelas Dito.

Menurutnya, potensi pencemaran sungai memang masih terbuka. Sebab, sejumlah TPS diketahui berada di dekat aliran sungai, termasuk di kawasan Sungai Bango. Meski demikian, ia menyebut perlu dipastikan kembali apakah seluruh TPS tersebut masih aktif atau tidak.

“Kalau dalam konteks kekhawatiran dan potensi tercemar itu memang ada. Karena sumber SPAM Bango berasal dari Sungai Bango,” imbuhnya.

Dito juga menyoroti masih adanya kebiasaan sebagian masyarakat yang membuang sampah ke sungai. Tak hanya limbah rumah tangga, ia menyebut beberapa bangunan di sekitar sempadan sungai juga diduga masih menjadikan aliran sungai sebagai tempat pembuangan sampah.

“Jadi kondisinya tidak hanya di Sungai Bango saja. Ada beberapa TPS di dekat aliran sungai, meski ada yang aktif dan ada yang tidak,” ujarnya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Komunitas Kaliku, Sugeng Widodo menilai kondisi tersebut berpotensi memperparah pencemaran saat musim hujan. Sampah yang menumpuk di bantaran sungai disebut akan mudah terbawa arus menuju aliran utama.

Menurut Sugeng, kondisi Sungai Bango perlu menjadi perhatian serius karena berkaitan langsung dengan sistem penyediaan air minum masyarakat Kota Malang.

“SPAM sendiri adalah penyediaan air minum untuk masyarakat. Ketika sungainya terlalu kotor, tentu itu sangat tidak baik,” katanya.

Ia menjelaskan, sungai yang sehat seharusnya memiliki debit air stabil dan tingkat pencemaran rendah. Namun saat musim penghujan, kualitas air sungai di wilayah Malang Raya dinilai mengalami penurunan akibat banyaknya limbah yang masuk ke aliran sungai.

“Nah, ketika musim penghujan dipastikan pencemaran di sungai-sungai wilayah Malang cukup tinggi,” jelasnya.

Selain sampah padat, Sugeng juga menyoroti limbah domestik dan limbah cair yang masih dibuang langsung ke sungai. Menurutnya, kondisi tersebut masih banyak ditemukan di sejumlah wilayah Malang Raya.

“Yang kasat mata saja, setiap kami survei maupun susur sungai, tumpukan sampah itu masih terlihat di sepanjang aliran sungai,” pungkasnya.
