JATIMTIMES - Menjelang pelaksanaan Sistem Penerimaan Murid Baru (SPMB) 2026, pemahaman masyarakat soal syarat masuk Sekolah Dasar (SD) negeri di Kota Malang masih kerap menimbulkan kebingungan. Salah satu yang paling sering dipertanyakan yakni soal kewajiban ijazah TK dan batas usia calon murid.

Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kota Malang memastikan bahwa anak tidak harus memiliki ijazah TK untuk bisa diterima di SD negeri. Selama usia anak memenuhi ketentuan, pendaftaran tetap dapat dilakukan.

Plt Sekretaris Disdikbud Kota Malang, Muflikh Adhim mengatakan, ketentuan penerimaan siswa SD hingga kini masih mengacu pada batas minimal usia 6 tahun.

“Anak yang tidak mengikuti TK tetap bisa masuk SD, asalkan usianya sudah memenuhi syarat,” ujar Muflikh.

Ia menuturkan, faktor usia menjadi dasar utama dalam proses penerimaan peserta didik baru. Karena itu, sekolah negeri tidak menjadikan latar belakang pendidikan TK sebagai syarat mutlak.

Namun demikian, peluang diterima tetap bergantung pada daya tampung masing-masing sekolah. Dalam proses seleksi, sistem akan memprioritaskan calon murid dengan usia lebih tua terlebih dahulu.

Menurut Muflikh, kondisi itu sering disalahartikan masyarakat sebagai bentuk penolakan terhadap anak usia 6 tahun. Padahal, mekanisme yang diterapkan sebatas pemeringkatan berdasarkan usia calon peserta didik.

“Kalau kuotanya sudah penuh, anak usia 6 tahun lebih bisa saja tidak tertampung karena yang diprioritaskan usia paling tua,” jelasnya.

Selain mengacu pada aturan penerimaan nasional, sekolah negeri juga terhubung dengan sistem Data Pokok Pendidikan (Dapodik). Sistem tersebut disebut hanya dapat membaca data calon murid yang telah memenuhi batas usia minimal.

Karena itu, Disdikbud mengingatkan masyarakat agar tidak memaksakan anak masuk SD sebelum cukup umur hanya karena alasan ingin lebih cepat sekolah.

“Kesiapan anak itu bukan hanya soal akademik, tapi juga psikologis. Kalau memang belum siap, lebih baik dimatangkan dulu di TK,” kata Muflikh.

Penjelasan tersebut sekaligus menjawab kekhawatiran sebagian wali murid yang selama ini menganggap ijazah TK menjadi syarat wajib masuk SD negeri di Kota Malang.
