JATIMTIMES – Kehadiran sapi kurban bantuan Presiden Republik Indonesia Prabowo Subianto seberat 1,2 ton di Dusun Brau, Desa Gunungsari, Kecamatan Bumiaji, memantik kebanggaan tersendiri bagi dunia peternakan di Kota Batu. Sebab, di balik ukuran jumbonya, diketahui ternyata sapi jenis simental tersebut merupakan hasil perawatan peternak lokal asal Desa Tlekung, Kecamatan Junrejo.
Keberhasilan menaikkan bobot optimal ternak hingga melampaui angka satu ton ini menjadi bukti autentik bahwa kompetensi dan keahlian pembudidayaan para peternak di Kota Batu tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata. Pemilihan sapi dari peternak lokal oleh pihak kepresidenan dinilai sebagai pengakuan tertinggi terhadap kualitas standardisasi pakan serta manajemen pemeliharaan kesehatan hewan yang diterapkan masyarakat sekira lereng pegunungan.

“Kami sengaja memilih dan menunjukkan sapi dari peternak lokal untuk mendukung sekaligus mengapresiasi sektor peternakan masyarakat Kota Batu,” ujar Plt Wali Kota Batu Heli Suyanto di sela-sela melihat penyembelihan hewan kurban, Rabu (27/5/2026).
Heli menjelaskan bahwa kesuksesan peternak asal Desa Tlekung dalam merawat sapi pesanan presiden ini harus dijadikan sebagai pelecut semangat, sekaligus percontohan bagi seluruh elemen peternak di wilayah Kota Batu, termasuk para peternak sapi perah di Dusun Brau.
Keberhasilan ini diharapkan mampu menggeser stigma bahwa sapi berukuran raksasa hanya bisa dihasilkan oleh korporasi peternakan besar di luar daerah, melainkan juga bisa lahir dari ketekunan peternak mandiri di tingkat desa.
“Ini juga menjadi penyemangat dan percontohan buat peternak kita semua, ternyata warga Kota Batu sendiri bisa merawat sapi mandiri sampai bisa sebesar dan seprima itu,” tambah Heli.
Guna mempertahankan serta mereplikasi kesuksesan pembibitan ternak premium seperti ini, Pemerintah Kota Batu melalui Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan (DPKP) berkomitmen untuk terus mengintensifkan program pendampingan teknis. Intervensi tersebut mencakup edukasi formulasi pakan bernutrisi tinggi, pemanfaatan teknologi inseminasi buatan, hingga jaminan ketersediaan layanan kesehatan dan pemenuhan dosis vaksinasi berkala.

Langkah penguatan di sektor hulu hingga hilir ini dinilai krusial agar para peternak Kota Batu tidak hanya menjadi penonton atau sekadar menyuplai bahan baku susu segar ke luar daerah, melainkan juga mampu menguasai pasar perdagangan sapi potong premium. Sinergi yang kuat antara ketekunan peternak dan fasilitasi penuh dari pemerintah daerah diharapkan dapat mendongkrak kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat agraris secara berkelanjutan.
“Kami berharap dari Desa Tlekung dapat menular ke wilayah lain, sehingga ke depan Kota Batu tidak hanya dikenal sebagai kota wisata, namun juga menjadi lumbung pembibitan ternak unggulan yang diakui nasional,” pungkas dia.
