JATIMTIMES Hama tikus kembali menjadi momok bagi petani di Kabupaten Situbondo . Sepanjang Mei 2026, Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan (Dispertangan) Situbondo mencatat serangan hama tersebut telah menyerang ratusan hektare lahan pertanian, khususnya tanaman padi.
Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Kepala Dispertangan Situbondo, Quratul Aini , menyebutkan luas tanaman padi yang terdampak serangan hama tikus mencapai 123,8 hektare. Dari total luasan tersebut, sebagian di antaranya mengalami serangan berat hingga menyebabkan gagal panen.

“Pada bulan Mei, tercatat tanaman padi yang terserang hama tikus seluas 123,8 hektare. Dengan kategori serangan berat mencapai 5,3 hektare dan puso atau gagal panen seluas 3,8 hektare,” ujar Quratul Aini usai menghadiri Forum Selasaan di Ruang Intelligence Room Pemkab Situbondo, Selasa (2/6/2026).
Selain menyerang tanaman padi, hama tikus juga mulai mengganggu pertanaman jagung di sejumlah wilayah. Berdasarkan catatan Dispertangan, lahan jagung terdampak mencapai 13,7 hektare. Namun, hingga kini belum ditemukan kasus puso pada komoditas tersebut.
Meningkatnya serangan hama tikus membuat Dispertangan mengintensifkan langkah pengendalian di lapangan. Salah satunya melalui gerakan pengendalian massal atau gerdal yang dilakukan bersama kelompok tani di beberapa kecamatan terdampak. “Pengendalian terus kami lakukan melalui gerakan massal di sejumlah lokasi yang mengalami serangan,” kata Quratul.
Ia menegaskan, pola pengendalian secara bersama-sama jauh lebih efektif dibanding dilakukan secara mandiri oleh masing-masing petani. Sebab, hama tikus memiliki mobilitas tinggi sehingga mudah berpindah antar lahan.
Karena itu, petani diminta aktif berkoordinasi dengan kelompok tani, Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL), serta Pengendali Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan (POPT) agar pengendalian dapat dilakukan secara terpadu.

“Kami berharap petani melakukan pengendalian secara serempak dalam satu kawasan hamparan. Jika dilakukan sendiri-sendiri, hasilnya kurang maksimal,” tegasnya.
Di sisi lain, Dispertangan juga mengingatkan pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan dengan melindungi predator alami tikus. Hewan seperti musang liar, ular, hingga burung hantu dinilai berperan penting dalam menekan populasi hama di area pertanian.
“Masyarakat kami imbau tidak membunuh musuh alami tikus karena sangat membantu petani dalam pengendalian populasi hama,” pungkasnya.
