JATIMTIMES - Memasuki musim kemarau, para petani di Kota Batu kembali dihadapkan pada fenomena bediding atau suhu dingin ekstrem yang kerap terjadi di kawasan dataran tinggi. Kondisi tersebut tidak hanya membuat udara terasa lebih dingin, tetapi juga berpotensi mengganggu produktivitas tanaman hortikultura dan bunga hias yang menjadi andalan daerah tersebut.

Mengantisipasi dampak tersebut, Pemkot Batu melalui Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan mendorong pemanfaatan rumah tanaman atau green house yang telah dibangun dan diserahkan kepada kelompok tani.

Kepala Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Kota Batu, Hendry Suseno, mengatakan keberadaan green house menjadi salah satu solusi untuk menjaga stabilitas suhu dan kelembapan sehingga tanaman lebih terlindungi dari cuaca ekstrem.

“Kami punya banyak green house yang telah diperbantukan kepada kelompok tani itu bisa digunakan karena lebih aman, suhu dan kondisi tanaman bisa dikontrol,” kata Hendry, Selasa (9/6/2026).

Data Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Kota Batu mencatat saat ini terdapat 42 unit green house yang tersebar di berbagai wilayah. Sebanyak 38 unit telah dimanfaatkan oleh kelompok tani, sementara empat unit lainnya masih belum digunakan secara optimal.

Langkah tersebut dinilai penting seiring peringatan Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) Stasiun Klimatologi Jawa Timur terkait fenomena bediding di kawasan dataran tinggi. Suhu dingin yang ekstrem dapat memicu terbentuknya embun es yang berisiko merusak tanaman sayuran maupun bunga.

Padahal, sektor hortikultura menjadi salah satu tulang punggung pertanian Kota Batu. Menurut Hendry, pihaknya juga terus memperkuat komunikasi dengan para penyuluh pertanian serta tenaga pendamping yang tersebar di desa dan kelurahan.

Melalui jaringan tersebut, informasi terkait perubahan cuaca dan langkah antisipasi dapat diteruskan kepada sekitar 290 kelompok tani di Kota Batu.

Ia mengingatkan perubahan musim sering kali memunculkan ancaman penyakit tanaman yang sulit diprediksi. Kondisi berkabut dan kelembapan tinggi dapat memicu berkembangnya virus maupun bakteri yang menyerang tanaman.

“Ketika ada perubahan musim biasanya memunculkan penyakit yang susah diprediksi, kalau ada kabut penyakit nanti mengarah ke virus dan bakteri,” ujarnya.

Meski di tengah kebijakan efisiensi anggaran, Pemkot Batu memastikan bantuan sarana produksi pertanian, termasuk pestisida, tetap menjadi prioritas untuk mendukung keberlangsungan usaha para petani.

“Meski sekarang kondisi efisiensi tetapi hal prinsip dan rutin yang memberikan manfaat kepada petani tetap dianggarkan,” tutup Hendry.
