JATIMTIMES - Unggahan seorang pelari rekreasional asal Kabupaten Sidoarjo mendadak viral di media sosial Threads. Bukan karena torehan podium atau medali, melainkan kisah inspiratif di balik aksinya menuntaskan Ring of Arjuno (ROA), sebuah rute ultra-run mengelilingi kaki Gunung Arjuno sejauh hampir 117 kilometer seorang diri.
Sosok tersebut adalah Nasrul Maulana Al-Faris, warga Desa Singogalih, Kecamatan Tarik, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pria yang mulai menekuni olahraga lari sejak pandemi covid-19 pada tahun 2020 itu baru saja menyelesaikan perjalanan sepanjang 117,94 kilometer dengan total elevasi mencapai 2.946 meter dalam waktu 38 jam 47 menit.

Rute yang ditempuh pun tidak singkat. Nasrul memulai perjalanan dari Pacet, kemudian melintasi Cangar, Kota Batu, Malang, Lawang, Pandaan, Purwodadi, Tretes, Prigen, Trawas, sebelum akhirnya kembali ke titik awal di Pacet.
Kepada JatimTIMES, Nasrul menggambarkan pengalaman tersebut sebagai perjalanan yang penuh makna. Ia menyebut momen berlari sendirian itu layaknya berbincang dengan diri sendiri.
“Lumayan juga, ngerasain gimana serunya lari 100 kilometer sendirian sekaligus podcast bersama diri sendiri,” kata Nasrul, Rabu (10/6/2026).
Bagi Nasrul, Ring of Arjuno bukan sekadar aktivitas olahraga atau upaya mengejar catatan waktu. Perjalanan tersebut menjadi ruang untuk menikmati alam, menguji kekuatan fisik, melatih ketahanan mental, sekaligus menemukan ketenangan.
“Perjalanan ini bukan sekadar olahraga atau mengejar catatan waktu, tetapi juga perjalanan pribadi untuk menikmati alam, menguji kekuatan fisik dan ketahanan mental, serta menemukan ketenangan,” imbuh Nasrul.
Salah satu hal yang paling menyita perhatian warganet adalah keputusan Nasrul melintasi kawasan Hutan Cangar, lokasi yang selama ini kerap dikaitkan dengan berbagai kasus kriminal. Terlebih Nasrul melintas kawasan itu pada dini hari.
Namun baginya, kawasan tersebut tidak seharusnya terus dibayangi stigma masa lalu. Nasrul sengaja menjadikan lintasan itu sebagai simbol bahwa harapan harus lebih besar dibanding rasa takut.
“117 kilometer saya tempuh melintasi Hutan Cangar, sebagai simbol bahwa harapan harus lebih besar daripada ketakutan. Tempat yang sering dikaitkan dengan berbagai tindak kriminal tidak boleh selamanya dikenal karena masa lalunya,” tambah Nasrul.
Ia mengajak masyarakat untuk bersama-sama membangun kepedulian terhadap kesehatan mental sekaligus menghadirkan energi positif bagi kawasan wisata alam tersebut.

“Mari rawat kesehatan mental, bangun kepedulian terhadap sesama, wujudkan Kawasan Hutan Cangar sebagai tempat yang aman untuk bertamasya, berolahraga dan penuh energi positif bagi semua pengunjung,” katanya.
Nasrul yang mengusung semangat “Long Live Loner Runner” juga menjelaskan alasan dirinya memilih menekuni ultra run. Menurutnya, olahraga jarak jauh mampu mengajarkan kesabaran, ketekunan dan keyakinan yang kemudian terbawa ke kehidupan sehari-hari.
“Ultra-run sangat efektif untuk mengembangkan kesabaran, ketekunan dan keyakinan dalam diri. Nilai-nilai itu terbawa ke kehidupan sehari-hari,” ucap Nasrul.
“Setiap rintangan hidup dapat dipandang layaknya sebuah ultra run, penuh tantangan namun selalu bisa diselesaikan dengan konsisten dan keberanian untuk tidak berhenti,” lanjutnya.
Tak hanya itu. Berlari dalam jarak yang panjang juga menjadi sarana melatih pengendalian diri dan kekuatan mental. Menurut dia, menghadapi jarak yang panjang dan waktu yang lama membuatnya bisa belajar bertahan dalam kondisi yang tidak nyaman, menjaga fokus, mengatur emosi dan rasa sakit yang muncul.
“Pada akhirnya, itu melatih pengendalian diri dan kekuatan mental,” tegasnya.
Unggahan tersebut pun menuai banyak respons positif dari warganet. Banyak yang mengaku terinspirasi oleh semangat Nasrul dalam menaklukkan batas kemampuan diri, sekaligus mengubah cara pandang terhadap Hutan Cangar sebagai ruang yang aman untuk berwisata dan berolahraga.
