JATIMTIMES - Komisi B DPRD Kota Malang menegaskan akan terus mengawal kejelasan status pengelolaan Velodrome Kota Malang. Kepastian pengelola dinilai mendesak agar fasilitas olahraga tersebut tidak terus terkatung-katung dan berdampak pada pembinaan atlet balap sepeda.

Anggota Komisi B DPRD Kota Malang, Indra Permana, mengatakan hingga kini masih belum ada kepastian apakah Velodrome akan dikelola Pemerintah Kota Malang atau Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur. Menurutnya, persoalan tersebut harus segera diselesaikan agar tidak terus menghambat pengelolaan fasilitas olahraga itu.

"Yang pasti, kami dari Komisi B akan tetap mengawal agar pengelola Velodrome ini segera dipastikan siapa. Apakah dari Pemkot ataukah dari Pemprov. Kalau memang ini terkatung-katung dan tidak segera tuntas, ya kasihan nasib para atlet kita," ujar Indra, Minggu (28/6/2026).

Ia menilai ketidakjelasan pengelolaan berimbas langsung terhadap pembinaan atlet. Terlebih, Jawa Timur selama ini dikenal sebagai salah satu daerah penghasil atlet balap sepeda berprestasi.

Menurut Indra, persoalan tersebut menunjukkan masih mengambangnya regulasi terkait pengelolaan Velodrome.

"Ya otomatis efeknya seperti itu. Karena pengelolaannya tidak jelas, regulasinya tidak jelas, yang dikorbankan siapa? Pasti atletnya yang banyak dikorbankan," tegasnya.

Karena itu, Komisi B DPRD Kota Malang berkomitmen terus mengawal penyelesaian persoalan tersebut. Bahkan, kata Indra, dorongan untuk memperjelas pola pengelolaan Velodrome juga menjadi salah satu inisiatif dari Komisi B.

"Kami tetap akan mengawal ini. Dan ini juga bentukan dari ide Komisi B, sampai mengusulkan bagaimana pengelolaannya supaya clean and clear Velodrome ini. Kami akan mengawal terus," katanya.

Dorongan serupa juga disampaikan Ketua Komisi E DPRD Jawa Timur, Sri Untari, usai melakukan inspeksi lapangan di Velodrome Kota Malang. Ia menemukan sejumlah fasilitas yang membutuhkan pembenahan menjelang penyelenggaraan Piala Gubernur Jawa Timur cabang olahraga balap sepeda pada 11-12 Juli mendatang.

"Kami melihat langsung kondisi faktual Velodrome Kota Malang. Memang kondisinya saat ini perlu diperbaiki dengan baik. Apalagi dalam waktu dekat akan digunakan untuk Piala Gubernur cabang olahraga balap sepeda," ujar Untari.

Menurutnya, percepatan perbaikan harus dilakukan melalui kolaborasi antara Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur dan Pemerintah Kota Malang. Sebab, status aset Velodrome melibatkan kedua pemerintahan tersebut.

Untari menjelaskan lahan Velodrome merupakan aset milik Pemerintah Kota Malang. Sementara sebagian bangunan dibangun menggunakan anggaran Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur, sedangkan beberapa fasilitas lainnya berasal dari hibah ISSI Pusat kepada KONI.

"Karena itu proses penanganannya harus dilakukan bersama. Velodrome ini sangat strategis bagi pembinaan olahraga balap sepeda Jawa Timur yang selama ini menjadi salah satu cabang olahraga andalan penyumbang prestasi," pungkasnya.
