JATIMTIMES - Kontingen Persatuan Catur Seluruh Indonesia (Percasi) Kota Malang kembali menunjukkan prestasi membanggakan pada Kejuaraan Provinsi (Kejurprov) Catur Jawa Timur ke-57 Tahun 2026. Bertanding di Gedung Akademi Komunitas Negeri, Kabupaten Pacitan, pada 8-11 Juli 2026, Kota Malang sukses membawa pulang delapan medali dari berbagai kategori.

Dari total 34 atlet yang diturunkan, Kota Malang mengoleksi dua medali emas, dua medali perak, dan empat medali perunggu. Raihan tersebut menjadi modal positif bagi pembinaan atlet catur Kota Malang di tingkat Jawa Timur.

Dua medali emas dipersembahkan oleh Josephine Grace Rondonuwu yang menjadi juara pada Kategori C Putri U-15 serta Nuraqeela Callista Naura yang keluar sebagai juara di Kategori D Putri U-13.

Sementara itu, dua medali perak diraih Daniswara Prasetya Nugraha pada Kategori D Putra U-13 dan Fatimah Humaira Azzahra di Kategori H Putri U-5.

Empat medali perunggu disumbangkan oleh Fernanda Agus Saputra (Senior Putra), Nisriina Alaas Tsabita (Senior Putri), Muhammad Yusuf Hamdani (Kategori F Putra U-9), serta Lituhayu Bening Pambayun (Kategori F Putri U-9).

Pada Kejurprov kali ini, Percasi Kota Malang menurunkan atlet di hampir seluruh nomor yang dipertandingkan, mulai kategori senior hingga kelompok usia dini. Hanya dua nomor yang tidak diikuti, yakni Kategori A Putra U-19 dan Kategori G Putra U-7.

Ketua Percasi Kota Malang, Tatit Budisucahyo, mengapresiasi perjuangan seluruh atlet, pelatih, ofisial, serta dukungan orang tua yang telah mengantarkan Kota Malang meraih hasil membanggakan.

"Alhamdulillah, perjuangan atlet-atlet binaan Percasi Kota Malang membuahkan hasil yang membanggakan. Prestasi ini menjadi bukti bahwa pembinaan yang selama ini dilakukan berjalan ke arah yang positif dan mampu mengharumkan nama Kota Malang di tingkat Jawa Timur," ujarnya.

Menurut Budi, hasil tersebut terasa lebih istimewa karena Kota Malang tidak tampil dengan kekuatan penuh. Pada waktu yang sama, tiga atlet terbaiknya sedang mengikuti Seleksi Tim Olimpiade Catur Indonesia 2026 yang digelar PB Percasi.

Ketiga atlet tersebut ialah Nayaka Budidharma, Arjuna Satria Pamungkas, dan Claretta Natania Handoko.

"Waktunya bersamaan. Alhamdulillah, adik-adik yang bertanding di Kejurprov tetap mampu meraih prestasi. Di sisi lain, Nayaka juga berhasil lolos seleksi Tim Olimpiade Catur Indonesia 2026. Ini tentu menjadi kebanggaan tersendiri bagi Kota Malang," tambahnya.

Budi menjelaskan, capaian tersebut merupakan hasil dari pembinaan yang dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Sebelum bertolak ke Pacitan, para atlet telah menjalani latihan rutin di klub-klub binaan serta mengikuti pemusatan latihan bersama para pelatih berpengalaman.

Program tersebut tidak hanya berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan teknik dan strategi bermain, tetapi juga membekali atlet dengan penguatan mental bertanding, manajemen waktu, sportivitas, hingga kesiapan menghadapi tekanan selama pertandingan.

Selain itu, Percasi Kota Malang secara berkala melakukan evaluasi terhadap perkembangan masing-masing atlet sehingga pola latihan dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan setiap kategori usia. Langkah tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya menjaga regenerasi atlet agar terus melahirkan pecatur-pecatur berprestasi.

Hasil di Kejurprov Jatim ke-57 ini akan menjadi bahan evaluasi sekaligus modal bagi Percasi Kota Malang menghadapi agenda kompetisi berikutnya. Sejumlah atlet diproyeksikan untuk tampil pada berbagai kejuaraan tingkat nasional maupun memperkuat Kota Malang di ajang Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (Porprov) Jawa Timur.

Budi berharap capaian di Pacitan menjadi pemicu semangat para atlet untuk terus meningkatkan kemampuan dan mempertahankan tradisi prestasi Kota Malang di cabang olahraga catur.

"Kami tentu tidak akan berhenti sampai di sini. Hasil Kejurprov menjadi evaluasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas latihan agar prestasi atlet Kota Malang bisa terus meningkat," pungkas Budi.
