JATIMTIMES -  Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kota Malang langsung tancap gas menangani dua isu strategis, yakni krisis sampah dan persiapan penilaian Adipura.

Seperti diketahui, posisi kepala DLH Kota Malang kini diisi oleh Plh (Pelaksana Harian) Gamaliel Raymond Matondang, yang mulai bertugas sejak 1 Agustus 2025. Ia menggantikan Noer Rahman Wijaya yang dinonaktifkan karena dugaan pelanggaran disiplin berat, yakni berpoligami tanpa izin.

“Sebagai Plh, tugas saya menjalankan peran seperti kepala dinas definitif, tapi bersifat sementara. Tugas ini akan berakhir saat ada pejabat baru hasil mutasi,” terang Raymond. 

Menurut Raymond, pengelolaan sampah menjadi prioritas utama DLH saat ini. Berdasarkan data, sampah harian di Kota Malang mencapai 700 hingga 1.000 ton, terutama karena tingginya populasi mahasiswa dari luar kota.

Masalahnya, kapasitas Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Supit Urang hanya sanggup menampung sekitar 600 ton sampah per hari. “Jika tidak ditangani serius, TPA bisa penuh dalam empat tahun ke depan. Ini situasi darurat yang harus segera diatasi,” tegas Raymond.

Tak hanya soal sampah, DLH Kota Malang juga bersiap menghadapi penilaian Adipura yang semakin dekat. Mulai minggu depan, DLH akan mengaktifkan tim kebersihan, memperbaiki taman kota, dan merawat pohon-pohon di berbagai titik strategis.

“Kami ingin memastikan wajah kota benar-benar siap. Ruang terbuka hijau, keasrian taman, dan kebersihan lingkungan menjadi indikator penting,” jelasnya.

Langkah ini dianggap penting untuk mempertahankan citra Kota Malang sebagai kota hijau dan bersih di mata nasional.
