Makeup Artist profesional Pao Hilda Afiani mengungkapkan bahwa salah satu penyebab blush on terlihat kurang pigmented adalah kualitas kuas yang digunakan. Kuas dengan bulu terlalu jarang atau terlalu kaku kerap gagal mengangkat produk secara optimal.

“Banyak orang mengira blush on-nya jelek atau sudah kedaluwarsa. Padahal yang bermasalah itu aplikatornya. Kuas yang kurang baik memang bikin warna seolah nggak keluar,” ungkap Pao, Selasa (27/1/2026).
Namun, bagi yang belum memiliki kuas blush on dengan kualitas yang mumpuni, ada trik sederhana dan lebih hemat yang bisa dicoba. Pao pun punya trik agar pigmentasi blush on terlihat, yakni menggunakan spons bedak atau puff yang lembut.
Menurut Pao, spons bedak justru mampu mengambil pigmen lebih banyak dibanding kuas tertentu. “Spons punya permukaan yang bisa ‘menangkap’ pigmen dengan lebih padat. Tapi harus hati-hati, karena hasil warnanya bisa langsung naik drastis,” jelas Pao.

“Setelah tahu seberapa kuat pigmentasinya, baru ditepuk perlahan ke pipi. Tekniknya seperti memakai bedak tabur, jangan digeser. Tepoknya lembut supaya hasilnya natural dan nggak kaget warnanya,” kata Pao.

Teknik ini dinilai efektif terutama untuk blush on yang selama ini dianggap kurang kelihatan. Bahkan, produk yang sama bisa terlihat jauh lebih hidup hanya dengan mengganti alat aplikasinya.
“Dengan teknik yang tepat, blush on yang dibilang nggak keluar warna itu sebenarnya tetap kelihatan. Apalagi kalau produknya pigmented tapi selama ini salah cara pakainya,” tambah Pao.
