JATIMTIMES - Ada dua jenis toilet, yang umum digunakan di Indonesia, yaitu toilet jongkok, dan toilet duduk. Faktanya, hingga kini soal mana yang lebih baik antara toilet duduk dan jongkok masih diperdebatkan.

Sebetulnya tak ada yang salah antara toilet duduk dan jongkok. Keduanya sama-sama bisa menampung BAB yang dikeluarkan oleh manusia dengan lancar.

Namun, jika dilihat dari sisi kebersihannya toilet jongkok ternyata lebih baik dibandingkan dengan toilet duduk. 

Hal itu juga pernah dibahas dr Boyke di salah satu video yang dibagikan channel YouTube SONARA FM. Menurutnya, dilihat dari sisi kebersihan, penggunaan toilet jongkok lebih baik daripada toilet duduk. 

Pasalnya, seseorang yang menggunakan toilet duduk yang ada di kamar mandi umum lebih mudah terserang bakteri yang menempel dari permukaan atas kloset ke bagian paha hingga bokong.

"Justru WC jongkok itu lebih sehat karena tidak menyentuh bagian-bagian daripada tubuh kita, paha atau bokong sehingga daerah itu menjadi bersih," ungkap dr Boyke, dikutip Minggu (14/7/2024).

Tak hanya itu saja, dr Boyke menjelaskan penggunaan toilet duduk juga berpotensi meningkatkan risiko seseorang terjangkit penyakit infeksi kulit hingga parahnya kanker.

Hal itu terjadi akibat kulit akan bersentuhan langsung dengan permukaan dudukan kloset yang rentan menjadi sarang bakteri.

Apalagi kata dr Boyke toilet duduk sering ditemukan di pusat kamar mandi umum yang tentunya banyak digunakan orang lain sehingga belum terjamin kebersihannya.

"15-20 persen daripada penyakit kelamin atau penyakit yang bisa kanker, itu sering kali ditularkan oleh toilet yang kotor," jelasnya. 

Dr Boyke menyarankan, sebelum menggunakan toilet duduk hendaknya dibersihkan terlebih dahulu permukaannya menggunakan tisu basah dan antiseptik. 

"Bersihkan toilet sebelum melakukan aktivitas BAB atau pipis, maka semprot-semprot dulu, kalau perlu bawa tisu basah. Ingat 15-20 persen daripada penyakit kelamin atau penyakit yang bisa kanker, itu sering kali ditularkan oleh toilet yang kotor," Katanya. 

"Sama seperti makan harus cuci tangan, begitu juga kalau ke toilet harus dibersihkan dulu, kecuali kalau WC-nya WC jongkok, ga diduduki ga masalah," sambungnya.
