Tuk Tuk Jadi salah satu ikon wisata yang paling dicari dan ingin dicoba di Thailand.

JATIMTIMES – Jika ada satu hal yang bisa mengalahkan panasnya suhu 39 derajat Celcius di Thailand pada bulan Mei, itu adalah detak jantung yang berpacu kencang saat menaiki Tuk-Tuk. Kendaraan roda tiga ikonik ini bukan sekadar alat transportasi, melainkan wahana uji nyali bagi siapa pun yang berani duduk di bangku belakangnya.

Bagi saya yang baru pertama menginjakkan kaki di Bangkok, naik Tuk-Tuk adalah ritual wajib yang memberikan perspektif baru tentang arti "kecepatan". Sopir Tuk-Tuk di sini seolah memiliki "kekebalan diplomatik". Di tengah kemacetan yang mengunci ribuan mobil, mereka bergerak liar dan tak terduga.

Tuk-Tuk adalah sisi liar dari petualangan saya di Thailand. Kendaraan roda tiga ikonik yang suaranya memekakkan telinga ini bukan sekadar alat transportasi; ini adalah wahana pemacu adrenalin yang seolah-olah beroperasi di luar hukum fisika dan aturan lalu lintas.

Ada sebuah guyonan di kalangan turis bahwa sopir Tuk-Tuk di Bangkok seolah-olah memiliki "kekebalan diplomatik". Di tengah kemacetan yang mengunci mobil-mobil mewah, Tuk-Tuk dengan santainya melakukan manuver yang bikin jantung copot. 

Rasanya seperti sedang berada di dalam sebuah kotak logam yang dilemparkan ke jalan raya. Meskipun rambut akan berantakan dan debu jalanan menempel di wajah, ada kepuasan tersendiri melihat deretan mobil terjebak macet sementara kita melaju kencang menuju tujuan.

Tuk-Tuk adalah cara tercepat untuk sampai ke tujuan sekaligus cara tercepat untuk teringat pada Tuhan. Tapi jujur saja, belum ke Thailand namanya kalau belum merasakan sensasi 'ngepot' di tikungan jalanan Bangkok yang panas.

Meski harganya sering harus dinegosiasikan lebih keras dibanding tarif kapal, pengalaman melihat kemegahan vihara dan gedung tinggi sambil berpegangan erat pada kursi Tuk-Tuk adalah memori yang tak ternilai. Ini adalah kekacauan yang terorganisasi. 

Dengan akselerasi tinggi, begitu jalanan sedikit lengang, mereka tancap gas sekuat tenaga. Embusan angin kencang di tengah cuaca panas memang menjadi "AC alami", namun pastikan Anda berpegangan erat jika tidak ingin terlempar saat mereka menikung tajam.

Bukti kehebatan Tuk-Tuk saya rasakan saat melakukan perjalanan dari mal megah IconSiam menuju Pratunam. Normalnya, jika menggunakan taksi atau moda transportasi roda empat lainnya, perjalanan ini bisa memakan waktu hingga 1 jam lebih karena kemacetan Bangkok yang legendaris.

Namun, dengan Tuk-Tuk, waktu tempuh tersebut dipangkas secara ekstrem menjadi hanya 30 menit saja! Uniknya, di tengah jalan saya sempat berubah pikiran. Semula saya berniat menuju China Town, namun di tengah perjalanan saya memutuskan untuk mengubah tujuan akhir langsung ke pusat oleh-oleh Pratunam.

Meskipun ada perubahan rute mendadak, sang sopir dengan sigap memutar arah dan tetap memberikan tarif yang sangat masuk akal bagi kaum "mending", yakni sekitar 400 Baht. Dengan harga tersebut, saya tidak hanya membeli jasa transportasi, tapi juga "waktu" dan pengalaman mendebarkan yang tak akan didapatkan di dalam taksi ber-AC.

Tips Bertahan Hidup Naik Tuk-Tuk

- Nego harga di awal:  Pastikan Anda menyepakati harga sebelum naik (seperti tarif 400 Baht tadi) agar tidak ada drama saat sampai tujuan.

- Pegang Barang Bawaan: Karena kecepatannya yang tinggi dan manuver yang tajam, pastikan tas dan ponsel Anda dalam genggaman yang aman.

- Siapkan Mental: Naik Tuk-Tuk adalah cara tercepat untuk sampai ke tujuan sekaligus cara tercepat untuk teringat pada Tuhan.

Belum sah rasanya ke Thailand jika belum merasakan sensasi jantung yang hampir copot saat sang supir memotong arah dengan berani. Di balik keringat yang bercucuran di suhu 39 derajat, Tuk-Tuk tetap menjadi pahlawan jalanan yang menjanjikan ketepatan waktu di tengah hiruk-pikuk Bangkok.
