JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Malang melalui Dinas Perhubungan mulai menyiapkan penataan ulang jalur angkutan kota atau rerouting angkot. Langkah tersebut dilakukan untuk menyesuaikan perkembangan wilayah permukiman yang terus meluas dan belum seluruhnya terjangkau transportasi umum.

Kepala Dishub Kota Malang, Widjaja Saleh Putra mengatakan, penataan trayek atau rute baru angkot dilakukan agar pelayanan angkutan umum di Kota Malang lebih maksimal dan mampu menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini.

Menurut pria yang akrab disapa Jaya itu, pembenahan jalur angkot tidak masuk dalam pembahasan Peraturan Daerah Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan (LLAJ). Sebab, pengaturan trayek akan dilakukan secara teknis oleh Dishub Kota Malang.

“Kalau pengaturan trayek itu nanti pelaksanaannya di kami. Setelah peluncuran angkutan pelajar ini, segera kita lakukan,” ujar Widjaja saat dikonfirmasi, Selasa (19/5/2026).

Dishub sendiri masih menunggu peluncuran angkutan pelajar yang ditargetkan rampung pada Mei 2026 sebelum kebijakan rerouting mulai diterapkan.

Pria yang akrab disapa Jaya itu mengungkapkan, trayek angkot yang digunakan saat ini sudah tidak relevan dengan kondisi perkembangan Kota Malang. Pasalnya, sebagian besar jalur masih mengacu pada pola trayek yang disusun sejak tahun 1989.

“Trayek yang ada sekarang dibuat tahun ’89 dan belum memfasilitasi kondisi existing sekarang,” tambahnya.

Perubahan wajah Kota Malang yang dipenuhi kawasan perumahan baru dinilai membuat sejumlah wilayah belum tersentuh layanan angkutan umum. Salah satu kawasan yang disorot yakni Sawojajar.

“Misalnya perumahan-perumahan di Sawojajar, apakah semuanya sudah dimasuki angkutan kota? Kan belum,” jelasnya.

Karena itu, Dishub Kota Malang mulai menyiapkan kajian teknis untuk membuka jalur baru agar angkot bisa menjangkau lebih banyak kawasan hunian warga. Kajian tersebut disebut sebenarnya telah tersedia dan tinggal menunggu tahap implementasi bersama para sopir serta pengusaha angkutan kota.

“Kajian sebenarnya sudah ada, tinggal implementasinya nanti kita diskusikan lagi dengan teman-teman angkutan kota,” ujarnya.

Melalui skema rerouting itu, Dishub berharap masyarakat dapat kembali menikmati layanan transportasi umum yang lebih merata dan mudah diakses. “Harapannya masyarakat bisa menikmati angkutan umum semuanya,” bebernya.

Meski demikian, Dishub memastikan tidak semua jalan akan dilalui angkot. Penentuan trayek baru nantinya tetap mempertimbangkan kelas jalan hingga kondisi lingkungan di kawasan permukiman.

“Tidak semua jalan bisa dilewati. Ada kelas-kelas jalannya, dan tentu tidak mungkin angkutan masuk ke kampung-kampung kecil,” pungkasnya.
