JATIMTIMES – Wakil Wali Kota Batu, Heli Suyanto, menyampaikan otokritik tajam namun membangun terhadap penataan ruang publik di wilayahnya. Ia mengakui, kualitas taman kota di daerah luar Jawa sering kali jauh lebih indah ketimbang di Kota Batu sendiri, padahal banyak perancangnya adalah anak-anak muda Kota Batu.

Hal itu diungkapkan Heli saat gelaran tahunan Spekta Flora Festival (SFF) 2026 yang berlangsung di destinasi wisata Batu Love Garden (Baloga), belum lama ini. Heli menceritakan pengalamannya saat mengunjungi salah satu taman kota di Pulau Kalimantan beberapa waktu lalu.

Dirinya mengaku terkejut saat mengetahui bahwa para pekerja kreatif dan seniman lanskap yang membangun taman indah tersebut merupakan warga asli Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Batu.

"Karya-karya seniman bunga (florist atau floral artist) dari Kota Batu ini sangat diakui di seluruh Indonesia. Tapi ini sekaligus menjadi otokritik bagi kami di pemerintahan. Taman-taman di Kota Batu justru belum sebagus di luar sana, padahal yang mengerjakan di luar sana itu bener-bener anak-anak Batu," ujar Heli Suyanto.

Politisi senior ini menjelaskan, kendala utama belum optimalnya keterlibatan seniman lokal dalam proyek pemerintah daerah terletak pada urusan regulasi. Berdasarkan aturan pengadaan barang dan jasa pemerintah, pengerjaan fasilitas publik atau pembuatan taman kota diwajibkan menggunakan bendera perusahaan atau badan usaha resmi yang legal.

Sementara itu, mayoritas petani, perangkai, dan seniman bunga di Kota Batu bergerak secara personal atau dalam basis komunitas kreatif lokal yang belum berbadan hukum.

"Kami di pemerintahan masih mencari formula yang tepat secara aturan. Bagaimana kontribusinya orang-orang hebat Batu ini bisa dituangkan langsung di tanah kelahirannya, tentunya dengan tetap mematuhi mekanisme hukum yang ada," imbuhnya.

Guna memecahkan kebuntuan tersebut, Heli mengajak seluruh pemangku kepentingan yang hadir, termasuk perwakilan Ikatan Arsitektur Lanskap Indonesia (IALI) Malang Raya dan Gekraf Kota Batu, untuk duduk bersama merumuskan wadah yang legal bagi para perajin flora lokal.

Ke depan, Pemkot Batu menargetkan adanya perwajahan baru yang lebih tematik dan estetis di setiap jalur masuk menuju area kota. Heli berharap wajah ramah Kota Batu langsung tecermin dari keindahan seni tata taman begitu wisatawan melintasi batas wilayah.

"Sejak saya di DPRD dulu, ini sudah saya suarakan ke Dinas Lingkungan Hidup. Begitu orang masuk ke Kota Batu, pintu-pintu masuknya harus dihiasi oleh karya landscape yang luar biasa dari seniman kita sendiri. Semoga ke depan harapan ini bisa segera terealisasi," pungkas Heli.
