Pengprov TI Jatim Buka Jalan Gelar Kejuaraan Internasional Bersama Korea Selatan

JATIMTIMES – Pengurus Provinsi Taekwondo Indonesia (Pengprov TI) Jawa Timur membuka peluang kerja sama internasional untuk memperkuat pembinaan atlet dan ekosistem olahraga taekwondo di daerah.

Langkah tersebut dilakukan melalui kunjungan kerja jajaran Pengprov TI Jatim ke Korea Selatan pada pertengahan Juli 2026. Dalam lawatan itu, delegasi bertemu sejumlah pihak strategis, termasuk Taekwondo Promotion Foundation (TPF).

Delegasi Pengprov TI Jatim dipimpin Ketua Umum Mayjen TNI (P) Yusman Madayun, didampingi Penasehat Hubungan Internasional Grand Master Han Kwang Gil dari Korea Selatan dan Pembina Hubungan Internasional Pengprov TI Jatim Master Chandra Putra Negara.

Salah satu hasil penting dari kunjungan tersebut adalah rencana kolaborasi penyelenggaraan kejuaraan taekwondo bertaraf internasional di Jawa Timur.

Presiden TPF Kim Jung-heon menyatakan kesediaannya untuk berkolaborasi dengan Pengprov TI Jatim dalam penyelenggaraan kejuaraan yang direncanakan bernama Taekwondo Promotion Foundation East Java Championship.

Rencana tersebut dibahas saat delegasi Pengprov TI Jatim mengunjungi Taekwondowon di Kota Muju, Korea Selatan, pada 16 Juli 2026. Taekwondowon merupakan salah satu pusat pengembangan taekwondo yang menjadi bagian penting dalam ekosistem olahraga bela diri tersebut di Korea Selatan.

Ketua Umum Pengprov TI Jatim Mayjen TNI (P) Yusman Madayun mengatakan, kerja sama tersebut diharapkan tidak berhenti pada penyelenggaraan kompetisi. Menurutnya, kolaborasi internasional harus mampu memberikan dampak langsung terhadap peningkatan kualitas atlet dan pembinaan taekwondo di Jawa Timur.

“Kami memiliki harapan besar melalui kunjungan dan sinergi ini, Pengprov TI Jatim dapat mengkolaborasikan cabang olahraga taekwondo di kancah dunia,” ujar Yusman dalam keterangan tertulis, Senin (21/7/2026).

Ia menyebut, kerja sama dengan pihak di Korea Selatan dapat membuka akses lebih luas bagi atlet Jawa Timur terhadap standar pelatihan dan pengembangan taekwondo internasional.

“Ini adalah upaya kami untuk terus mendongkrak kualitas atlet dan menciptakan ekosistem olahraga yang lebih profesional dan kompetitif di Jawa Timur,” katanya.

Pertemuan dengan Kim Jung-heon juga memiliki kedekatan tersendiri dengan Indonesia. Sebelum menjabat sebagai Presiden TPF, Kim diketahui pernah menjabat Sekretaris Jenderal Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang 2018.

Selain membangun jejaring pembinaan, Pengprov TI Jatim juga memperkuat aspek tata kelola organisasi melalui penandatanganan Nota Kesepahaman (MoU) dengan Kantor Hukum Taegwang pada 15 Juli 2026.

Kerja sama tersebut diarahkan untuk mendukung operasional dan tata kelola organisasi agar berjalan lebih profesional.

Pengprov TI Jatim berharap rangkaian kerja sama tersebut dapat memperluas jejaring taekwondo Jawa Timur di tingkat global. Rencana kejuaraan internasional bersama TPF pun diharapkan menjadi salah satu langkah awal untuk mempertemukan atlet daerah dengan atmosfer kompetisi bertaraf internasional.
