JATIMTIMES – Kota Batu hingga kini belum memiliki Tempat Pemakaman Umum (TPU) daerah. Merespons kebutuhan tersebut, Pemkot Batu membidik lahan milik KPH Perhutani Malang di kawasan Jalan Lingkar Barat (Jalibar) untuk dijadikan pemakaman umum.

Lahan tersebut diketahui seluas dua hektar. Lokasinya di wilayah administrasi Desa Oro-Oro Ombo Kecamatan Batu. Lahan yang bakal jadi pemakaman ini juga telah ditinjau langsung oleh tim gabungan Disperkim Kota Batu, Pemdes Oro-Oro Ombo, dan Perhutani.

Kepala Disperkim Kota Batu Arief As Siddiq mengaminkan pentingnya keterbukaan informasi. Pihaknya siap duduk bersama warga Oro-Oro Ombo begitu surat balasan dari Perhutani diterbitkan.

"Penyediaan TPU ini murni untuk pemenuhan fasilitas publik seluruh warga Kota Batu. Kita memperjuangkan kebutuhan dasar ini untuk jangka panjang hingga anak cucu," terang Arief saat ditemui, belum lama ini.

Arief juga mengimbau masyarakat tidak mudah terprovokasi oleh pihak-pihak yang ingin mengambil keuntungan pribadi dari proyek pemakaman ini. Ia berharap seluruh elemen warga terus bersinergi mendukung program pembangunan Pemkot Batu.

Kepala Desa Oro-Oro Ombo Wiweko menyambut positif rencana penyediaan fasilitas umum tersebut. Menurutnya, program ini sejalan dengan spirit dan visi-misi Mbatu SAE.

Meski demikian, Wiweko memberi catatan penting terkait proses pelaksanaannya. Pihaknya meminta Disperkim dan Perhutani menggelar sosialisasi terbuka kepada warga desa terlebih dahulu.

"Secara hak kepemilikan lahan memang milik Perhutani. Namun jika timbul dampak, warga kami yang merasakannya langsung," ujar Wiweko.

Wiweko menegaskan sosialisasi awal sangat krusial untuk mencegah penolakan atau polemik di tengah masyarakat. Pihak desa pun masih menunggu kepastian jadwal sosialisasi dari KPH Perhutani Malang.
