JATIMTIMES - Scaling gigi merupakan salah satu prosedur perawatan gigi yang bertujuan untuk membersihkan karang gigi (kalkulus) dan plak yang menempel pada permukaan gigi.

Melakukan scaling gigi rutin setiap 6 bulan sekali sangat penting untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mencegah penyakit gusi seperti gingivitis dan periodontitis.

Sebelum menjalani scaling gigi, penting untuk mengetahui estimasi biaya yang mungkin dikeluarkan. Namun, perlu diingat bahwa harga bisa bervariasi tergantung lokasi, jenis pelayanan kesehatan, dan kompleksitas kasus.

Biaya scaling gigi bervariasi, biasanya antara Rp 150.000 hingga Rp 500.000. Harga ini bisa berbeda-beda tergantung tempat (puskesmas, klinik, atau rumah sakit) dan tingkat kesulitan perawatan. Di puskesmas, biaya bisa lebih terjangkau, sedangkan di klinik atau rumah sakit bisa lebih mahal. 

Mengingat harganya yang tidak murah, banyak masyarakat yang bertanya-tanya apakah scaling gigi bisa menggunakan BPJS kesehatan? 

Scaling Gigi Bisa Pakai BPJS Kesehatan

Scaling gigi termasuk salah satu dari tujuh perawatan gigi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan berdasarkan peraturan BPJS Kesehatan Nomor 1 Tahun 2014 Pasal 52 Ayat (1).

Layanan scaling gigi dapat ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan secara penuh asalkan statusnya terdaftar aktif dan mengikuti prosedur yang telah ditetapkan.

Scaling gigi dengan BPJS tidak bisa dilakukan sembarangan, tapi harus ada melakukan pemeriksaan terlebih dulu di Fasilitas Kesehatan Tingkat Pertama (FKTP). 

Syarat Menggunakan BPJS Kesehatan untuk Scaling Gigi

Perlu dicatat, scaling gigi hanya gratis pakai BPJS Kesehatan jika ada indikasi medis, bukan untuk alasan estetika.

"Scaling gigi pada gingivitis akut (peradangan gusi) dapat dijamin oleh BPJS Kesehatan dengan masa penjaminan dua tahun sekali," tulis BPJS Kesehatan melalui akun Twitter resmi (@BPJSKesehatanRI).

"Pemeriksaan dapat dilakukan di FKTP (Fasilitas Kesehatan Tingkat Pertama) terdaftar berdasarkan indikasi medis dan tidak bisa atas permintaan sendiri," lanjut BPJS Kesehatan.

Melalui pernyataan tersebut, BPJS Kesehatan hanya menanggung perawatan scaling gigi berdasarkan indikasi medis, bukan untuk alasan estetika. Hal ini turut tertuang dalam panduan layanan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional-Kartu Indonesia Sehat (JKN-KIS) oleh BPJS Kesehatan.

"Pelayanan kesehatan untuk tujuan estetik tidak dijamin oleh JKN-KIS," tulis BPJS Kesehatan.

Prosedur scaling gigi pakai BPJS Kesehatan

1. Peserta BPJS Kesehatan mendatangi fasilitas kesehatan (faskes) pertama, yakni Puskesmas atau klinik. Di faskes pertama, peserta atau pasien BPJS Kesehatan perlu melengkapi proses administrasi dengan menunjukkan kartu BPJS Kesehatan yang masih aktif.

2. Dokter gigi akan melakukan pemeriksaan. Jika ada indikasi medis yang mengharuskan pasien mendapatkan layanan pembersihan karang gigi, maka scaling bisa dilakukan secara gratis di faskes pertama.

3. Jika ada indikasi medis lebih serius yang memerlukan rujukan di fakes lanjutan, pesertaBPJS Kesehatan harus memperoleh rujukan dokter darifaskes pertama terlebih dahulu. Surat rujukan akan digunakan untuk berobat ke rumah sakit rujukan faskes, khususnya dokter gigi spesialis atau sub spesialis.
