JATIMTIMES – Seleksi Beasiswa Teladan  2026 di Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim (UIN Maliki) Malang bukan sekadar proses penjaringan mahasiswa berprestasi. Di balik angka 364 peserta yang ikut seleksi tahun ini, tersimpan kecenderungan kuat, yakni dominasi calon penerima dari jalur tahfizh Al-Qur’an semakin menonjol.

Seleksi dimulai sejak 8 April 2026 melalui ujian computer based test (CBT), lalu berlanjut ke tahap wawancara pada 9 April 2026. Dari ratusan peserta, sebanyak 242 orang merupakan penghafal Al-Qur’an. Angka ini jauh melampaui bidang lain seperti pembacaan kitab kuning sebanyak 75 peserta, olahraga 17 peserta, seni 22 peserta, dan hafalan hadis yang hanya diikuti 8 peserta.

Kondisi ini memperlihatkan bahwa jalur prestasi keagamaan, khususnya tahfizh, masih menjadi arus utama dalam kompetisi beasiswa penuh tersebut. Program ini sendiri menawarkan pembiayaan menyeluruh, mulai dari pembebasan biaya ma’had hingga uang kuliah tunggal (UKT), yang membuatnya menjadi salah satu jalur paling diminati calon mahasiswa berprestasi.

Namun, seleksi ini tidak hanya berbicara soal angka dan fasilitas. Kepala Bagian Akademik Imam Ahmad menegaskan bahwa beasiswa ini membawa konsekuensi pembinaan jangka panjang.

“Beasiswa ini bukan sekadar mengantarkan mereka dalam pendidikan, tetapi juga akan dilakukan pembinaan untuk mengembangkan potensi yang mereka miliki,” ujarnya, Kamis (9/4/2026).

Di tengah ketatnya seleksi, muncul cerita-cerita personal yang mencerminkan arah dan harapan program ini. Salah satunya datang dari Niha, peserta jalur tahfizh asal Magelang yang mengikuti tahap wawancara di area HTQ kampus.

Latar belakang sebagai alumni Pondok Rahmatullah membentuk pilihan Niha. Ia melihat sistem asrama sebagai ruang yang menjaga konsistensi hafalan Al-Qur’an, sekaligus memperkuat disiplin yang telah dibangun sejak di pesantren.

“Cocok banget, karena bisa menjaga hafalan lewat lingkungan asrama. Dari dulu di pondok juga sudah terbiasa, jadi lebih mudah beradaptasi,” katanya.

Persiapan Niha tidak instan. Ia mengaku telah mulai menyiapkan diri sejak kelas 1 SMA, mempelajari berbagai materi untuk menghadapi tes hingga tahapan wawancara. Ketekunan ini menggambarkan bagaimana beasiswa Teladan tidak hanya menarik minat, tetapi juga membentuk pola persiapan jangka panjang di kalangan pelajar.

Harapan serupa juga datang dari keluarga. Wali salah satu peserta, Jihan, melihat jalur ini sebagai kesempatan membangun kapasitas keilmuan yang tidak berhenti pada capaian akademik.

“Saya berharap anak saya bisa menjadi profesor yang benar-benar memahami Al-Qur’an, bukan hanya sekadar unggul secara akademik,” ujarnya.

Pilihan melanjutkan pendidikan di UIN Malang dinilai selaras dengan latar belakang pesantren yang telah ditempuh, sekaligus membuka ruang pengembangan yang lebih luas.

Lonjakan jumlah peserta tahun ini sekaligus memperlihatkan meningkatnya minat terhadap beasiswa berbasis prestasi dan nilai keagamaan. Di sisi lain, seleksi Beasiswa Teladan tidak hanya menjadi pintu masuk pendidikan tinggi, tetapi juga ruang pembentukan identitas keilmuan yang memadukan akademik dan tradisi keislaman.
