JATIMTIMES - Hasil riset terbaru dari BeData Technology mengungkap respons publik digital yang keras terhadap kasus teror yang menimpa Ketua BEM UGM, Tiyo Ardiyanto. Alih-alih membahas substansi kritik soal anggaran pendidikan, percakapan netizen justru bergeser menjadi kecaman terhadap pola intimidasi yang dinilai mengancam ruang demokrasi.

Dalam laporan yang dirilis berdasarkan pemantauan percakapan digital selama periode 15 Februari hingga 26 Maret 2026, BeData menemukan dominasi sentimen negatif di sejumlah platform media sosial.

Di TikTok, sentimen negatif tercatat mencapai 66 persen, sementara di platform X berada di angka 50,3 persen. Angka ini menunjukkan mayoritas publik memandang kasus intimidasi terhadap suara mahasiswa kritis sebagai isu serius. 

“Isu teror terhadap Ketua BEM UGM memicu kemarahan dan kekhawatiran yang kuat di ruang digital, terutama terkait kebebasan berekspresi,” demikian salah satu poin utama dalam hasil analisis BeData.

Tak hanya sentimen, riset BeData juga memetakan emosi dominan yang muncul dari netizen. Di TikTok, emosi yang paling banyak terdeteksi adalah anger (kemarahan) sebesar 48,4 persen, disusul fear (ketakutan) sebesar 35,1 persen.

Sementara di platform X, dukungan moral terhadap korban juga terlihat kuat dengan dominasi emosi love sebesar 68,8 persen.

Temuan ini memperlihatkan dua respons publik yang dominan yakni kemarahan terhadap dugaan intimidasi dan solidaritas terhadap korban.

Kasus yang menimpa Tiyo sendiri memang menjadi perhatian luas setelah ia mengaku mendapat ancaman dari nomor asing, diikuti dugaan penguntitan hingga teror yang menyasar keluarga dan pengurus BEM lainnya. 

Yang paling menyita perhatian dari hasil penelitian BeData adalah munculnya sejumlah frasa yang bernada ancaman dan trauma historis.

Dalam analisis bigram atau pasangan kata yang paling sering muncul, ditemukan istilah seperti “air keras”, “dihilangkan nyawanya”, hingga frasa “Orde Baru”.

Kemunculan istilah tersebut menunjukkan kekhawatiran publik bahwa pola intimidasi terhadap suara kritis mengingatkan pada praktik pembungkaman di masa lalu.

Narasi “Orde Baru” muncul berulang sebagai simbol kekhawatiran netizen terhadap kembalinya pola tekanan fisik maupun psikologis terhadap pihak yang menyampaikan kritik.

BeData juga mencatat perubahan arah percakapan publik. Jika awalnya isu yang dibahas berkaitan dengan kritik terhadap anggaran pendidikan sebesar Rp 223 triliun, diskursus kemudian beralih menjadi kecaman terhadap dugaan represi.

Artinya, perhatian netizen tidak lagi terpusat pada angka anggaran, tetapi pada bagaimana kritik tersebut direspons dengan ancaman. “Diskursus bergeser dari substansi kritik anggaran menjadi kecaman terhadap pola intimidasi yang dianggap represif,” tulis laporan tersebut.

Di tengah derasnya narasi ancaman, dukungan terhadap Tiyo juga terus mengalir. Beberapa kata kunci seperti “lindungi ketua”, “anak muda berani”, dan “suara mahasiswa” banyak muncul dalam analisis percakapan.

Riset BeData menyimpulkan bahwa publik digital secara umum memandang intimidasi terhadap mahasiswa sebagai kegagalan negara dalam menjamin kebebasan berekspresi.

Kasus ini pun dinilai menjadi pengingat bahwa kritik dari kalangan kampus seharusnya dijawab dengan dialog dan argumentasi, bukan tekanan atau ancaman.
