JATIMTIMES - Program seragam gratis bagi siswa baru di Kota Malang tetap berlanjut pada tahun ajaran 2026/2027. Namun, berbeda dengan tahun sebelumnya, bantuan tersebut kini hanya diberikan kepada siswa dari keluarga kurang mampu.
Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kota Malang, Suwarjana, mengatakan kebijakan tersebut diambil menyesuaikan kondisi anggaran yang mengalami efisiensi.

"Tahun ini seragam gratis kita berikan kepada yang secara ekonomi kurang beruntung. Jadi tidak semuanya seperti tahun kemarin," ujar Suwarjana.
Ia menjelaskan, pendataan penerima bantuan akan dilakukan setelah proses Sistem Penerimaan Murid Baru (SPMB) selesai. Orang tua siswa akan dikumpulkan oleh masing-masing sekolah untuk mendapatkan penjelasan terkait mekanisme bantuan seragam.
Setelah itu, orang tua diminta mengisi formulir yang memuat keterangan mengenai kemampuan membeli seragam secara mandiri.
"Nanti orang tua kami kumpulkan, kami kasih penjelasan oleh masing-masing sekolah. Setelah itu mengisi format, kira-kira mampu beli seragam atau tidak. Kalau tidak mampu membeli seragam, nanti mengajukan ukuran yang dibutuhkan," jelasnya.
Menurut Suwarjana, pembatasan penerima bantuan dilakukan karena adanya pengurangan anggaran. Karena itu, jumlah penerima seragam gratis tahun ini jauh lebih sedikit dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya.
Disdikbud Kota Malang menyiapkan kuota sekitar 2.000 siswa untuk jenjang SD dan 2.000 siswa untuk jenjang SMP. Dengan demikian, total penerima bantuan seragam gratis pada tahun ini sekitar 4.000 siswa.

"Yang jelas sekitar 2.000-an per jenjang. SD 2.000, SMP 2.000," katanya.
Jumlah tersebut turun drastis dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya. Pada 2025, program seragam gratis menyasar seluruh siswa baru SD dan SMP di Kota Malang dengan total sekitar 26 ribu siswa.
"Sebelumnya semua, sekitar 13 ribu kali dua jenjang," pungkasnya.
