JATIMTIMES - Smartphone masih menjadi perangkat yang paling banyak digunakan saat ini. Namun sejumlah petinggi perusahaan teknologi dunia mulai meyakini masa kejayaan ponsel pintar tidak akan berlangsung selamanya.
Para bos teknologi ini memprediksi akan ada perangkat baru yang perlahan mengambil alih peran smartphone dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu yang paling sering disebut adalah kacamata pintar berbasis kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan augmented reality (AR).

Prediksi terbaru datang dari CEO Snap, Evan Spiegel. Menurutnya, masyarakat mulai mengalami kejenuhan karena terlalu lama berinteraksi dengan layar ponsel dan siap beralih ke pengalaman komputasi yang berbeda.
"Hampir 20 tahun sejak peluncuran iPhone, orang-orang kini siap memandang teknologi komputasi dengan cara berbeda," kata Spiegel, dikutip dari CNBC, Rabu (17/6/2026).
Pernyataan itu disampaikan bersamaan dengan peluncuran Specs, kacamata augmented reality pertama Snap yang ditujukan untuk konsumen umum.
Perangkat tersebut dibanderol sekitar USD 2.195 atau setara lebih dari Rp 35 juta. Harga itu jauh lebih tinggi dibanding Spectacles, kacamata kamera buatan Snap yang dijual sekitar USD 130 saat pertama kali diluncurkan pada 2016.
Spiegel menilai perangkat seperti Specs menawarkan cara baru dalam menggunakan teknologi karena pengguna tidak lagi harus terus-menerus menatap layar ponsel.
"Specs benar-benar menghadirkan cara menikmati teknologi komputasi secara bersama-sama melalui pengalaman berbagi di dunia nyata, yakni dengan melihat lurus ke depan melalui lensa tembus pandang, alih-alih menatap layar pekat," ujarnya.
Snap berencana mulai mengirimkan perangkat tersebut ke pasar Amerika Serikat, Inggris, dan Prancis pada akhir tahun ini.
Menurut Spiegel, semakin banyak orang mulai mempertanyakan hubungan mereka dengan smartphone dan layar digital yang selama ini mendominasi aktivitas harian.
Ia mencontohkan berbagai dampak yang mulai dirasakan pengguna, mulai dari nyeri leher akibat terlalu sering menunduk melihat ponsel hingga munculnya perasaan kehilangan momen-momen penting karena terlalu fokus pada layar.
Karena itu, ia melihat peluang besar lahirnya era baru setelah dominasi smartphone yang berlangsung hampir dua dekade terakhir.
Pandangan serupa juga disampaikan CEO Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon. Menurut Amon, perkembangan agen AI berpotensi mengubah cara manusia menggunakan teknologi dan aplikasi digital. Perubahan tersebut diyakini akan membuka jalan bagi perangkat baru untuk berkembang pesat, termasuk kacamata pintar.
"Ponsel akan berpusat di sekitar agen. Kelas perangkat yang baru juga akan berpusat pada agen. Dan agen inilah yang akan memahami niat manusia dan akan melakukan banyak hal untuk Anda, jadi ada pergeseran mengenai apa yang menjadi titik pusatnya," jelas Amon.
Meski demikian, ia tidak menilai smartphone akan hilang sepenuhnya dari kehidupan manusia.
Amon justru melihat akan terjadi perubahan peran. Smartphone tetap digunakan, tetapi tidak lagi menjadi satu-satunya pusat interaksi digital seperti saat ini.

Ia juga menyoroti pertumbuhan pasar kacamata pintar yang terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun.
Sebelum Spiegel dan Amon, CEO Meta Mark Zuckerberg lebih dulu menyampaikan keyakinannya bahwa kacamata pintar akan menjadi perangkat komputasi utama pada masa depan.
Zuckerberg menilai perangkat wearable menawarkan pengalaman yang lebih natural dibanding smartphone karena pengguna tidak perlu lagi menggenggam ponsel atau terus menunduk untuk mengakses informasi.
Dalam pandangannya, kacamata AI akan menjadi bagian dari kehidupan sehari-hari layaknya smartphone saat ini.
"Miliaran orang mengenakan kacamata atau lensa kontak untuk mengoreksi penglihatan. Dan saya rasa kita sedang berada di momen yang mirip dengan saat ponsel pintar pertama kali muncul, di mana jelas (saat itu) hanya tinggal menunggu waktu sampai semua ponsel lipat beralih menjadi ponsel pintar," ujar Zuckerberg.
Menurut pendiri Meta itu, perkembangan teknologi AI akan mempercepat transformasi tersebut.
"Sulit membayangkan dunia beberapa tahun lagi di mana sebagian besar kacamata yang dikenakan orang bukanlah kacamata AI," imbuhnya.
Meski sejumlah pemimpin industri teknologi ramai-ramai memprediksi hadirnya pengganti smartphone, bukan berarti ponsel pintar akan langsung ditinggalkan.
Saat ini smartphone masih menjadi perangkat utama untuk berkomunikasi, bekerja, hiburan hingga mengakses layanan digital. Infrastruktur aplikasi dan kebiasaan pengguna juga masih sangat bergantung pada perangkat tersebut.
Namun jika prediksi para petinggi Snap, Qualcomm, dan Meta menjadi kenyataan, maka kacamata pintar berbasis AI dan AR bisa menjadi perangkat yang perlahan mengambil sebagian fungsi smartphone dalam beberapa tahun ke depan.
Seperti halnya ponsel pintar yang pernah menggantikan telepon seluler konvensional, para bos teknologi itu meyakini perubahan besar berikutnya akan datang dari perangkat yang dikenakan langsung di tubuh pengguna, bukan lagi dari layar yang selalu berada di genggaman tangan.
