JATIMTIMES - 3 Rukun warga (RW) di Kelurahan Tegal Besar Kaliwates Jember, masuk dalam penilaian Desa Berseri tingkat Madya Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Provinsi Jatim, ketiga RW tersebut, diantaranya RW 36 dan RW 40 Perumahan Taman Gading, dan RW 27 Perumahan Muktisari.
Lurah Tegal Besar Kaliwates Jember Maria Hardajanti A.Md., ditemui disela-sela penilaian yang dilakukan oleh DLH Provinsi Jatim di RW. 36 Perumahan Taman Gading pada Kamis (2/7/2926) kepada wartawan menyatakan, bahwa kegiatan ini bukan lomba, namun lebih pada penilaian pemberdayaan lingkungan oleh masyarakat, terutama dalam pengelolaan sampah secara mandiri.

"Ini bukan lomba, tapi DLH Provinsi melakukan penilaian terhadap lingkungan warga yang mampu mengelola sampah secara mandiri, dan memberi nilai ekonomis, kebetulan di Kabupaten Jember 3 RW di wilayah kami terpilih untuk tingkat Madya," ujar Maria.
Maria menjelaskan, bahwa untuk lingkungan yang mau mengelola sampah secara mandiri dan dikerjakan bersama-sama, tidak semua mau menjalankannya.
Namun dengan adanya 3 RW yang hari ini masuk penilaian, diharapkan bisa menjadi contoh untuk lingkungan lainnya.
"Kami berharap, apa yang sudah dilakukan oleh 3 RW ini, bisa menjadi contoh untuk RW lainnya, untuk RW bersih, memang banyak di Tegal Besar, tapi yang mau mengelola sampah menjadi nilai ekonomis, seperti ada bank sampah, masih sangat minim," jelasnya.
Kedepan, agar kegiatan positif ini menular ke lingkungan lainnya, pihaknya akan menggandeng PKK, karang taruna dan elemen masyarakat di masing-masing RW untuk membentuk bank sampah.
"Idealnya satu RW ada dua bank sampah, tapi untuk tahap pertama, setiap RW memiliki bank sampah, ini juga untuk edukasi bagi anak cucu kita, karena saat ini bukan lagi era buang sampah ditempatnya, tapi pilah sampah dan menjadikan tabungan," pungkasnya.
Padahal untuk masuk kategori penilaiandesa berseri, tidak cukup hanya bersih dan rapi, tapi lebih dari itu, bagaimana lingkungan menjadi asri dan berdaya, terutama dalam pengelolaan sampah.

Lomba Desa/Kelurahan Berseri (Bersih dan Lestari) tingkat Madya Provinsi Jawa Timur adalah evaluasi lingkungan hidup berkelanjutan yang diselenggarakan oleh Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Provinsi Jawa Timur.
Tingkatan ini merupakan tahap lanjutan setelah Pratama, sebelum mencapai kategori Mandiri.Peserta yang masuk dalam penilaian tingkat Madya diwajibkan memenuhi berbagai indikator pengelolaan lingkungan, termasuk, Pengelolaan Sampah seperti melakukan Pemilahan, bank sampah, dan pembuatan kompos.
Konservasi Air dan Energi, yakni bagaimana lingkungan bisa memanfaatan air hujan dan pembuatan resapan.
Kemudian Tanaman dan Penghijauan, yakni Pembuatan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) dan tanaman produktif.
Seperti bank sampah yang digerakkan oleh kaum ibu-ibu di RW. 36 Perumahan Taman Gading, warga sekitar dalam beberapa tahun sudah mulai memilah sampah, dan menjadikannya sebagai tabungan lebaran. (*)
