JATIMTIMES - Meluangkan waktu untuk berolahraga di tengah kesibukan sehari-hari sangat penting untuk dilakukan. Hal itu semata-mata agar tubuh menjadi bugar, sehat dan senantiasa jauh dari penyakit.

Aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan saat berolahraga bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan energi, memperkuat imun, serta menurunkan berbagai penyakit kronis.

Namun meskipun demikian, sobat JatimTIMES juga harus memperhatikan jenis olahraga yang dipilih. Selain itu, waktu olahraga juga tak kalah penting untuk selalu diperhatikan. 

Memilih waktu olahraga yang tepat dapat membantu mengoptimalkan performa tubuh, membakar lebih banyak kalori, hingga memperbaiki kualitas tidur.

Terkadang, karena kesibukan aktivitas di siang hari beberapa orang memilih untuk melakukan olahraga di pagi hari. Namun pertanyaannya sekarang, apakah aman jika bangun tidur langsung melakukan olahraga? 

Dampak Langsung Olahraga Setelah Bangun Tidur

Mengenai hal ini, spesialis kedokteran olahraga dan ahli bedah orthopedi Dr David Geier menuturkan tubuh memerlukan persiapan ketika baru bangun tidur.

"Secara umum, hal yang penting adalah tubuh Anda membutuhkan semacam aktivasi, semacam masa pemanasan, agar siap untuk berolahraga setelah bangun tidur," katanya dikutip dari Well and Good, Rabu (2/7/2025).

Oleh karena itu, dr. David menuturkan berolahraga langsung setelah bangun tidur bisa menyebabkan beberapa risiko, diantaranya:

1. Meningkatkan Risiko Cedera

Karena kurangnya persiapan, tubuh bisa 'kaget' dan lebih rentan terkena cedera. Tubuh membutuhkan masa aktivitivasi atau pemanasan sebelum benar-benar siap bergerak.

Tanpa pemanasan yang cukup, gerakan tiba-tiba dapat membebani otot dan sendi. Oleh karena itu, sebaiknya luangkan waktu 15-30 menit untuk melakukan peregangan atau gerakan ringan terlebih dahulu.

2. Memicu Mual dan Ketidaknyamanan

Latihan intens seperti high intensity interval training (HIIT) di pagi hari bisa memicu mual, terutama jika tanpa persiapan. Fisiolog olahraga Paul DiLauro menuturkan hal ini terjadi karena tubuh memproduksi laktat dalam jumlah besar dan tidak sempat dinetralisasi.

"Kamu bisa mengalami mual tergantung pada susunan genetik Anda," katanya.

Mual adalah sinyal tubuh kesulitan menyesuaikan diri dengan lonjakan aktivitas. Risiko ini lebih besar jika tubuh belum aktif secara metabolik setelah tidur.

3. Memicu Masalah Pencernaan

Kondisi ini bisa terjadi ketika seseorang memutuskan juga untuk sarapan dulu sebelum berolahraga. Setelah makan, lambung membutuhkan darah untuk mencerna makanan, sama halnya dengan otot membutuhkan aliran darah ketika berolahraga.

Ini akan memicu 'perebutan' aliran darah, yang mengakibatkan ketidaknyamanan pada sistem pencernaan. Akibatnya, muncul perasaan mual, kembung, dan tidak bertenaga saat berolahraga.

Jika ingin sarapan sebelum olahraga, sebaiknya pilih makanan ringan dan beri jeda waktu agar pencernaan tidak terganggu.

Manfaat Olahraga Pagi Bagi Kesehatan

Meskipun bisa mengakibatkan beberapa risiko, nyatanya berolahraga pagi juga bisa berdampak baik bagi kesehatan tubuh. Perlu digaris bawahi bahwa hal ini bisa didapat tubuh jika olahraga dilakukan secara baik dan benar.

Hingga saat ini belum ada rekomendasi resmi jam berapa yang paling tepat untuk memulai olahraga, tapi jam 6.00 - 9.00 menjadi salah satu waktu yang disarankan. Pada waktu ini, tubuh juga dianggap lebih siap untuk berolahraga.

Sebuah penelitian yang diterbitkan oleh jurnal Obesity menemukan berolahraga antara pukul 07.00 - 9.00 memberikan dampak terbaik untuk penurunan berat badan. Orang yang berolahraga di pagi hari memiliki indeks massa tubuh dan lingkar pinggang yang lebih kecil.

Menurut imbauan Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), anak-anak usia 5-17 tahun bisa melakukan olahraga tingkat moderat dan sedang selama 60 menit tiap hari. Untuk dewasa berusia 18-64 tahun durasi olahraga dibuat lebih fleksibel menjadi 150-300 menit per minggu untuk aktivitas intensitas sedang, dan 75-150 menit per minggu untuk aktivitas intensitas tinggi. Untuk dewasa disarankan juga untuk latihan penguatan otot minimal dua kali seminggu.

• Meningkatkan energi sebelum beraktivitas.

• Meningkatkan fokus.

• Meningkatkan suasana hati.

• Membantu menurunkan berat badan.

• Mengontrol nafsu makan seharian.

• Menjaga kadar gula darah.

• Menjaga tekanan darah.

• Meningkatkan kualitas tidur di malam hari.
